MOVIE NEWS – According to the game’s director Josef Fares, the story of It Takes Two is ideally suited to the big screen and TV.
It Takes Two has become one of the blockbusters of 2021. May and Cody’s story is a huge bestseller, and that popularity has only grown after last year’s GOTY win. Now it looks like the two characters’ fame could rise even further, with a TV adaptation and movie in the works in collaboration with dj2, the production company that brought Sonic to the big screen.

According to our information, there are no studios attached to the It Takes Two production beyond the video game, but Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who have already worked on the Sonic movie as screenwriters, have expressed interest in the project.
From the point of view of the game’s director Josef Fares, May and Cody’s story is perfectly suited to the development of other audiovisual products. “Since it has a strong narrative with many crazy characters and just as crazy co-op action moments, the potential is huge for a great adaption to film or television,” he told Variety.
Ironically, Josef Fares once said that “movies will eventually realise how beautiful video games are”, although he might not have thought that would happen with one of his titles…
