MOVIE NEWS – The full trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has arrived after first being shown during the Super Bowl.
So here it is, the official trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. One of this year’s most anticipated Marvel films is set to hit the big screen in May. Ahead of the premiere, Marvel Studios gave us a sneak peek of the new film during the Super Bowl break, and you can watch the full official trailer below.
As you might expect, the trailer is quite complex; it may take several viewings to get all the information you need.
Perhaps the biggest revelation is that we get to hear the voice of Patrick Stewart as Professor X, which seems to confirm rumours that he will appear in the film.
Sam Raimi is directing the sequel from a script by Jade Halley Bartlett and Michael Waldron. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular doctor alongside Elizabeth Olsen, and the cast also includes Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Micahel Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher are executive producing.
Benedict Cumberbatch currently stars in one of the most popular and successful superhero films of all time, Spider-Man: No Way Home. Without spoiling too much – although anyone reading this will have seen the new Spider-Man. Because if you haven’t, then head to the cinema – one of the film’s most acclaimed features is its clever use of the ‘multiverse’, which has also opened the door to a whole new world of possibilities. If the multiverse is explored further in Doctor Strange’s “multiverse of madness”, Marvel might want to go big after No Way Home…
…although Cumberbatch has admitted he’s worried that the film won’t live up to the first Doctor Strange.
Of course, the new trailer doesn’t give too much away; it’s largely left to the imagination as to what characters we might see in the film. Let’s not forget that Marvel and Sony have Spider-Man: No Way Home, the official introduction of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire was delayed until the film’s release. We can assume that the biggest surprises of Doctor Strange 2 are also kept under seven locks.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to hit cinemas on 6 May 2022.
