Third-person shoot-outs and melee combat, catapult in hand, a violent sci-fi in Hong Kong – that’s what you can expect in Wanted: Dead.
Last October, we were introduced to Lieutenant Hannah Stone, the protagonist of Wanted: Dead, the frantic hack and slash game from 110 Industries and Soleil, inspired by titles like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden and Devil’s Third. SXSW 2022 brought us a new trailer showcasing the intense third-person action.
Set in a dark, cyberpunk sci-fi setting, Wanted: Dead puts us in the control of Stone, the leader of an elite team in Hong Kong called the “Zombie Squad”. As you can see in the new trailer, the gameplay – which promises to be highly entertaining – combines third-person shoot-outs and visceral melee action.
Wanted Dead is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series later this year
Katana in hand, the Lieutenant slashes his way through his enemies with ruthless violence. The game spares no expense on blood, dismemberment and executions. As well as the soldiers we’ll be facing, and the trailer also features a Ghost in the Shell-style spider armour inspired by classic Japanese animation, which even appears in the game’s logo.
The game is still scheduled for release in 2022, although an exact date is still unknown. Wanted: Dead is confirmed for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. 110 Industries’ plans for the coming years include Red Goes Faster, an intergalactic racing game with a sci-fi story, and Vengeance is Mine, a mecha fighting action game coming in 2023.
