Rumours Have It That Ubisoft Is Working On A New Game

According to rumours coming out of Ubisoft’s Bordeaux office, a new PvP battle arena game is in the works, codenamed Project Q for now.

The rumour first surfaced after a leak of the GeForce Now internal database, which Ubisoft immediately removed. This had the opposite effect: it confirmed the rumour for many. According to the rumour, an “innovative and modern PvP battle arena game” is being developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux. Amunka is currently in internal testing and is expected to be a free-to-play title.

A few things are already known about the game. It will include battle arena and battle royale modes. The battle royale mode is called Showdown, where two teams of four play against each other. In the battle arena mode, called Battle Zone, players will aim to hold an area for as long as possible. The winner is the first player to reach 100 points.

According to leaked images, the visuals of the game are reminiscent of Knockout City and Overwatch. Characters have three “wonders” – a weapon, a talent and a skill. Each of these can be used according to their own style. Weapons include some surprising ones, such as deck of cards, fireworks, hammers, sticks and paint guns. An example of an ability is Icarus Wings, which our hero can fly with.

Although we know a lot about the new game, we can only speculate until the official announcement.

There is more news from Ubisoft. One is that God of War is coming to GeForce Now today. The other is that Skate 4 gameplay footage has also appeared online following a leak. In addition, Saints Row’s customisation options have been revealed, and the latest patch for Horizon: Forbidden West will mainly improve Aloy’s animation. There are also rumours that several investors are interested in acquiring the company. The sources mentioned Blackstone Inc. and KKR & Co. Ubisoft has not commented on the acquisition.
