Warner’s Super Smash Bros. clone is also the talk of the town, even though it hasn’t been released yet.
It’s worth seriously considering what we read on Reddit, as the user who leaked now had already talked about MultiVersus before the game was announced, so he’s almost certainly a credible source. Here’s a list of characters which he says are “mostly done”, as a lot of information about them has come up after data mining the game so that you can hear some voices from them… after the dash in the following list, we listed the origin of the character(s):
- Joker – DC
- Raven – DC
- Gizmo – Gremlins
- Marvin the Martian – Looney Tunes
- Lebron James – NBA
- Rick – Rick and Morty
- Morty – Rick and Morty
- Scooby-Doo – Scooby-Doo
- Daenerys – Game of Thrones
- The Hound – Game of Thrones
- Wicked Witch – The Wizard of Oz
- Godzilla – Godzilla
Then there are the characters that are planned to be included but are still in the early stages of development:
- Johnny Bravo – Johnny Bravo
- Fred Flintstone – The Flintstones
- Samurai Jack – Samurai Jack
- The Powerpuff Girls (Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, all as one fighter) – The Powerpuff Girls
- The Animaniacs (Yakko, Wakko, and Dot Warner, all as one fighter) – The Animaniacs
- Duck Dodgers/Daffy Duck – Duck Dodgers/Looney Tunes
- Scorpion – Mortal Kombat
- Ben 10 – Ben 10
- Ted Lasso – Ted Lasso
The list looks pretty varied, but we have to point out that the lists are far from official. Still, there are logical choices because if Batman is in the base game, it would be a sin to leave out his main rival, the Joker. Gizmo from Gremlins is a bit of a leap, let alone Ted Lasso from the Apple TV series (because we can understand Fred, Scorpion, or Ben 10, as they are characters known worldwide; not to mention, say, The Animaniacs or The Powerpuff Girls).
The previously leaked characters (Mad Max, Harry Potter) are currently shelved, even though they were in the original leak. Around Harry Potter, it is questionable that any work has been done. Ted Lasso is logical because Warner Bros. Television Studios and Universal Studios are working together on the series. The character was built up from a sketch from Saturday Night Live; NBC, one of the “big” American TV companies, later used him for advertising Premier League football coverage.
We’ll see how much of this leak turns out to be true.
