MOVIE NEWS – Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One star Tom Cruise is risking his life again for our entertainment.
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is risking his life again for our entertainment as the actor filmed an intense aerial stunt from the top of a plane for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. In the clip, Cruise stands as casually on an aeroplane as any ordinary mortal would stand on the ground before wishing the audience a lovely summer and saying, “see you at the movies.”
The footage comes courtesy of Twitter user @icemavs, and also features Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One director Christopher McQuarrie as another biplane passenger, landing next to Cruise and teasing that it’s time to get on with filming instead of flying. This clip is rumoured to be just one of many breathtaking action sequences in the Mission: Impossible sequel, in which Tom Cruise is seen putting himself in real danger and proving once again why he’s so successful at bringing crowd-pleasing action movies to the screen.
Cruise has become so used to knocking on death’s door that his easy-going demeanour has actually become a problem on set, with the actor sometimes unable to stop smiling.
“I am a very physical actor and I love doing them. I study and train and take a lot of time figuring it all out,” Cruise said. “I have broken a lot of bones! The first time of any stunt is nerve-wracking, but it’s also exhilarating. I have been told a few times during shooting a stunt to stop smiling!”
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is scheduled to be released in the US on July 14, 2023, by Paramount Pictures. The final sequel, Dead Reckoning Part Two, is expected to arrive on June 28 2024.
