The Assassin’s Creed series has taken us to so many different places and times, but unfortunately we have yet to see an episode set in Japan, which is understandably a big miss for fans. Assassin’s Creed Red is here for that…
The fact that there have been other games set in the feudal era of the island nation has helped a little, but soon Ubisoft will finally fill the gap. The Assassin’s Creed, currently known as Codename Red, is in the works and will be set in Japan. No joke, no guesswork, the project really exists.
For now, what we know about the game is that it will take us back to feudal Japan, where we will be able to act as real ninjas. That’s probably enough for a lot of fans to be looking forward to this part of the newly announced news.
Codename Red also opens up an open world. It is ostensibly a role-playing game, so it’s possible that Ubisoft will continue to follow the same line as Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. Also, good news is that it’s a full-fledged instalment, so it’s likely to be a multiplatform adventure.
