Sony has added 23 games to the PS Plus Extra and Premium libraries, including many popular titles from the PS4 and PS5 catalogues.
Sony is adding new games to the PS Plus Extra and Premium libraries in the middle of each month. PlayStation Plus members on the Extra and Premium tiers gained access to 23 games yesterday. Members can play these games for as long as they are available on PS Plus. This works differently from the free monthly games available to users at all three levels, as players have access for as long as their subscription lasts.
The October 2022 offering is available now for free to PS Plus Extra and Premium members.
Early last week, Sony announced that PS Plus Extra and Premium members would receive 23 games in October 2022. These include Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Inside and The Medium.
PS Plus Extra games list for October 2022:
- Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China (PS4 only)
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India (PS4 only)
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia (PS4 only)
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
- Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (PS4 only)
- Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age
- Dragon Quest Builders
- Dragon Quest Builders 2
- Dragon Quest Heroes: The World’s Tree Woe and the Blight Below
- Dragon Quest Heroes 2: Explorer’s Edition
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition
- Hohokum
- Inside
- Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker
- The Medium
PS Plus Premium subscribers will also receive remasters of Ultra Street Fighter 4, Limbo and three Yakuza games as part of their subscription. After today, fans can play almost the entire mainline Yakuza series on their console via PS Plus. The remaining two games, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Everyday Shooter, will only be available via online streaming.
PS Plus Premium Games October 2022 list:
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
- Everyday Shooter
- Limbo
- Ultra Street Fighter 4
- Yakuza 3 Remastered
- Yakuza 4 Remastered
- Yakuza 5 Remastered
The overall offering of the Extra tier looks solid, but PS Plus Premium continues to disappoint users interested in retro games. Premium is the most expensive tier in the revamped PS Plus, and the catalogue of classic games is one of the biggest sellers. However, the PS1, PS2 and PSP titles on offer seem to be lacking, with only a few games to choose from.
Surprise, surprise: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition is playable now?!
Developer Rockstar Games has released a surprise update for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for all game versions (PC and console). The release of update 1.04.5 for the title follows previous fixes to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which attempted to fix the many bugs present in the game at launch in late 2021.
Unlike some previous updates to the game, no specifics are given as to what the update will include.
The patch note simply states, “Stability fixes across all three titles, all platforms”. Many users of the Rockstar Games support page seem to have found this vague description less than informative, as the update page’s answers to the question “Was this article helpful?” were unanimously negative.
