MOVIE NEWS – The She Said drama boasts very strong performances, which is why three actresses are likely to receive significant awards in the upcoming festival season, including the Oscar.
The film is about the investigation, thanks to which two reporters exposed sexual harassment in Hollywood, especially one of the most influential producers, Harvey Weinstein, who proved to be the most dangerous predator for three decades. Two reporters from The New York Times, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, wrote the article that threw a huge stone into the still water, they were Zoe Kazan and He is played by Carey Mulligan in the film. Kazan is the one who is most likely to win the Oscar, so much so that Universal Pictures, the producer of the film, is campaigning for her in the competition for the award in the best actress category. Samantha Morton, who plays Zelda Perkins, Weinstein’s personal assistant in the film, also seems to be a strong contender. The actress has only one scene in the film, but it is so intense that it calls out for a golden statue, critics say. And Carey Mulligan, who has so far missed out on an Oscar, is also in the running, even though she has been nominated twice (On A Girl, Promising Young Woman). Mulligan, if he doesn’t get an Oscar again, they’ll definitely give him another award (Golden Globe, BAFTA, etc.), because as usual, he’s brilliant in this film too.
He Said stands at 80 percent on the Rottentomatomatoes critic aggregator, everyone considers it one of the most important films of the year.
