Activision Blizzard seems to be playing hardball with PC gamers, as the publisher has announced a new Toys For Bob game for four consoles…
Neither Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy, nor Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, nor Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time were released on the same day for consoles and PC. Unfortunately, the same trend will be followed by Crash Team Rumble, similar to Crash Bash, released for PS1 in 2000. It was a four-player mini-game collection (which was a nightmare to complete 100+%!), and a similar concept was followed by Toys For Bob, doubling the number of players. In short: it’s not a platformer!
Here’s the game’s official overview: “Crash Team Rumble is an all-new 4v4 team-based online multiplayer video game set in Crash Bandicoot’s vibrant and zany universe. In Crash Team Rumble, fans can play as Crash, Dingodile, and a host of other friends and frenemies, each of which has their distinct power, personality, and playstyle, as they compete across wild and varied arenas in four-versus-four team-based online multiplayer action. To lead their squad to victory, players will slide, smash, bump and bash as a team to be the “fur-st” to bank the most Wumpa fruit in their drop-off zone while simultaneously defending the opponent team’s drop zone. Featuring cross-platform play, Crash Team Rumble will feature tons of strategic gameplay elements that will surely turn the tide of scoring in hilarious ways.”
In a press release, Paul Yan, co-CEO of Toys for Bob, said, “We’re so excited to unveil our fresh new take on multiplayer in the Crash universe with Crash Team Rumble. Crash Team Rumble has something for everyone—easy pick-up and play for those who just want to jump in while also providing skilled gamers the opportunity to leverage and master their hero’s unique abilities.”
Crash Team Rumble will be released in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. So again, PC and Nintendo Switch owners must wait for the port.
