This Classic Star Wars Game is Now Free with PlayStation Plus, but There’s a Catch! [VIDEO]

Select PS4 and PS5 PlayStation Plus subscribers can now download and play a classic Star Wars game for free thanks to the subscription service.

The catch is that you have to subscribe to the most expensive version of the subscription service, called PlayStation Plus Premium, which is the only tier that gives subscribers access to PS3, PS2, PS1 and PSP games. More precisely, if you are a Star Wars fan and a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber, you can now enjoy Star Wars: Demolition. We don’t know how long the game will be available via PS Plus, but it is already available at the time of writing.

Originally developed by Luxoflux, the classic Star Wars game was released back in 2000 via PS1. The vehicular combat game Star Wars: Demolition was released with a Metacritic score of 63 at the time. However, this is not just a simple version of the 2000 game. Rather, it has been expanded with new functions and technical improvements. Unfortunately, there is no trophy support.

If you’re not a PS Plus Premium subscriber, you can’t play the game for “free”, but you can play it after a $4.99 purchase. On PS4 and PS5, the game can be purchased individually if you’re not a PS Plus Premium subscriber and don’t want to be, just to enjoy a little Star Wars nostalgia.

PlayStation Plus Premium is available on both PS4 and PS5 at different prices depending on how many months of subscription you want to buy. If you only want the subscription service for one month, you only have to shell out $17.99. You can buy three months cheaper than that for $49.99. And there’s the cheapest price – the 12-month subscription – which costs $119.99. It’s not cheap, but if you want to enjoy PS3, PS2, PS1 and PSP games on PS4 and PS5, this is the cheapest way to go.
