Capcom’s system requirements aren’t that demanding (no mention of 32 or even 24 GB of RAM, for example) because the RE Engine runs fine, although it could run better if the Japanese publisher didn’t pack Denuvo and its DRM into its games…
Capcom has listed the system requirements for the Resident Evil 4 Remake on Steam (It’s just called Resident Evil 4 there because the 2007 PC version is luckily not on Valve’s digital platform in its original form because at the time Capcom’s PC ports were just terrible…)
Minimum system requirements – prioritizing performance, targetting an approximate frame rate of 45 FPS at 1080p:
- 64-bit operating system and processor required
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (no version number mentioned)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or better
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (with 4 GB of VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 560 (with 4 GB of VRAM), or better
- Graphics card for ray tracing: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or better
- DirectX: DX12
- Broadband Internet connection (also for Denuvo)
- Frame rate may dip during graphically intensive scenes
Recommended system requirements – achieve approximately 60 FPS frame rate at 1080p:
- 64-bit operating system and processor required
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (no version number is mentioned)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or better
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 or better
- Graphics card for ray tracing: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or better
- DirectX: DX12
- Broadband Internet connection (Denuvo)
- Frame rate may dip during graphically intensive scenes
Modest system requirements, and none mention how much free space it needs, but it’s worth guessing around 40-50 GB for Leon and Ashley’s Spanish tour, which will be released on March 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and PlayStation 4.
