Microsoft announced an update for late February/early March.
Atomic Heart (console = Xbox Series, Xbox One; PC, cloud), which has been scandalized by the Gazprom connection (which we have already covered), is now available. Merge & Blade (console, PC, cloud), and Soul Hackers 2 (console, PC, cloud) will arrive on February 28, F1 22 (console, PC – EA Play, so requires a PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription) will arrive on March 2, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (console, PC, cloud) will follow on March 3. On February 23, Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 12 will arrive, bringing New Zealand to the game.
The number of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks is not significant either, with only two announced by the Redmond-based company: in Apex Legends, you can get the Supercharge Revelry pack with your EA Play membership until March 14, and in MultiVersus, you get the MVP Pack Drop 3 as a bonus (new variant, a new ring-out effect, and a banner are part of the pack). Finally, we have to mention the outgoing games, all due to leave on February 28: Alien: Isolation (console, PC), Crown Trick (console, PC, cloud), Dragon Ball FighterZ (console, PC, cloud), Far: Changing Tides (console, PC, cloud), Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (console, PC), Madden NFL 21 (EA Play – console, PC) and Octopath Traveler (console, PC, cloud). The games leaving the service can be purchased at a 20% discount.
And that’s the update. That’s not much. Recently, Sony has similarly pulled the handbrake on the PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium offerings (where the Premium category, in particular, is expanding at an inexplicably slow pace, as PS1, PS2, and PSP games can be emulated by a PlayStation 5…), so there won’t be any updates that can be called lavish anytime soon. There are new games here (Sony doesn’t have any), but you have a right to expect more from Microsoft.
