New Meta Quest 3 Outperforms The Previous Generation VR Headset!

TECH NEWS – Meta has revealed plans to continue manufacturing VR devices and detailed the performance and new features of the upcoming Meta Quest 3.

Details about Meta Quest 3 are starting to emerge. According to the latest unveilings, the new device will be much more potent than Meta Quest 2. It appears to address several issues that users of older Meta Quest devices have encountered.

Currently, much of the attention on virtual reality is focused on the recently released PS VR 2. The new PlayStation-branded headset, while expensive, also includes some unique features. For example, the ability to track what the PS VR 2 user’s eyes are doing.

Meta Quest’s strength has always been its ability to provide a wireless virtual reality experience, while PS VR 2 relies on the PS5 to do the heavy lifting.

Now Meta has talked about its upcoming VR and AR projects. Meta Quest 3 is getting new features and should be more comfortable. The roadmap presentation from Meta’s Reality Labs division went into detail about Quest 3, indicating that it will be “at least” twice as powerful as Meta Quest 2. This could mean that newer VR games that relied on a PC or console could be played natively on the device. It is planned that 41 new apps and games will be made available for the VR headset.

In addition to the extra power, the new device will also be equipped with front-facing cameras. These will create “mixed reality” experiences. Meta wants users to be able to wear the headset comfortably for hours. This will be made more accessible by the fact that the user will be able to see what is happening around them without having to take it off. As part of this initiative, a new version of the Meta Quest Boundary Guardian will be introduced. This will make it easier to move around while wearing the headset.

In the same vein, the headset is twice as thin as the Meta Quest 2, which makes it much more comfortable during long gaming sessions.

However, all this comes with a caveat. Meta explained that the new device would be “a little” more expensive than the Quest 2, which starts at $399.99. Interested users weren’t thrilled when Meta raised the price of Quest 2, but a new device that does more and feels more pleasant to use might convince VR enthusiasts that Meta Quest 3 is worth their money.
