MOVIE NEWS – The American actor passed away at a California hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm. Tom Sizemore had been in the film industry for more than three decades and starred in movies such as True Romance and Black Hawk Down.
On Friday, Tom Sizemore’s death was confirmed by his manager, Charles Lago. The actor had a brain aneurysm on February 18 at his home in Los Angeles and had been in a coma in an intensive care unit ever since. Lago said Sizemore died peacefully.
Tom Sizemore was born in Detroit in 1961 and studied theater at the University of Michigan. His career took off in the late 1980s with television shows and minor film roles. He broke into the big screen in the 1990s with movies such as True Romance (1993), Natural Born Killers (1994), Heat (1995) and Enemy of the State (1998).
His biggest success came with Steven Spielberg’s war drama Saving Private Ryan (1998), where he played Sergeant Horvath alongside Tom Hanks. The film won eight Oscars. He followed that with Ridley Scott’s action film Black Hawk Down (2001), where he portrayed a member of an elite commando team in Somalia.
Sizemore was not only known for his film work but also for his personal scandals. He had several run-ins with the law due to his drug and alcohol addiction. His ex-girlfriend, Heidi Fleiss, accused him of abuse and harassment. Sizemore denied the allegations.
The actor’s last work was a horror film called The Manor. The film has not been released yet. Sizemore is survived by three children: Jayden (23), Jagger (21) and Brooklyn (14).
