Naughty Dog has released separate updates for the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of The Last of Us Part 1 as feedback continues to be addressed.
Naughty Dog has released separate updates for the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of The Last of Us Part 1, addressing feedback for each platform. The recent focus has obviously been on the recently released PC port of the game. There have been a significant number of technical issues with the program. However, Naughty Dog strongly supports the PlayStation 5 version of the game.
According to Naughty Dog, the patch fixes the camera shake in The Last of Us Part 1 when using a mouse and keyboard, which has been the subject of severe criticism since the game’s release.
Obviously, PC gamers will mostly want to use a mouse and keyboard for control. This update will hopefully solve this problem completely.
The PS5 update for The Last of Us Part 1 is much more significant. Patch 1.03 includes over 50 fixes and improvements. Plus, new in-game t-shirt cosmetics for Ellie inspired by the HBO series. Improvements include expanding targeting sensitivity from 1-10 to 1-100. Also, a hit can feature for rifles. As well as “numerous visual improvements” throughout the game. Bug fixes include not allowing infected to enter a “beg for life” state. Joel’s brother Tommy will guide the player more consistently during the Prologue chapter. And baseball bats do less damage against Clickers.
As for the cosmetics added to the game, Naughty Dog’s Twitter account revealed two new t-shirts for Ellie.
The first is a t-shirt with the Mortal Kombat 2 logo, and the second is for The Wire. The logo is notably for the Mortal Kombat 2 video game rather than the Mortal Kombat Annihilation movie. However, the Mortal Kombat movies are available to stream on HBO Max, so that may be the connection.
Updates will continue to arrive for the PC version of the game as they are completed by Naughty Dog and its partner Iron Galaxy. Naughty Dog says they will continue to monitor player reports and feedback. Future updates will continue to focus on optimization, game stability and patches. As evidenced by today’s PS5 update, Naughty Dog will continue to support the game’s console version.
