Tell Me Why is the latest creation from Dontnod Entertainment, a free-to-play game behind the Life is Strange series. The game consists of three episodes that were released in late 2020 on Windows and Xbox One platforms. The game’s main characters are Tyler and Alyson Ronan, who meet again after ten years in their hometown, a small town in Alaska. The siblings have a supernatural bond that allows them to communicate with each other telepathically and abuse their childhood memories. During the game, players must make decisions that affect the relationship and fate of the siblings.

The game is unique because Tyler Ronan is the first transgender protagonist in a AAA video game. The developers consulted with several expert groups, including GLAAD, an NGO that monitors media portrayals of LGBTQ+ people. In the game, Tyler is voiced by actor August Aiden Black, who is also transgender.
