Let’s hope that the game’s only add-on won’t be delayed several times like Cyberpunk 2077 was (and we don’t even dare to think what state the Polish studio’s game would have been in if it hadn’t been delayed once!).
Here’s the add-on’s overview: “In Phantom Liberty, players once again take on the role of V, a cyberpunk for hire, as they embark on a mission to save the President of the New United States of America after her orbital shuttle is shot down over the deadliest district of Night City—Dogtown. What follows is a deep dive into an intricate story of espionage and political intrigue which connects the highest echelons of power with the brutal world of black-market mercenaries. The stakes are larger than life, but so is the reward — your survival.
The full-fledged expansion to Cyberpunk 2077 features a hard-hitting spy-thriller adventure to embark on in a brand new location. Throughout the new story, players will meet and work with new characters, including FIA sleeper agent Solomon Reed, played by Idris Elba. Among the returning cast is Keanu Reeves, reprising his role as rebel-rocker boy Johnny Silverhand. The expansion also comes with a slew of new content, including new quests, gigs, and gig types; new vehicles, tech, cyberwar, and weapons; a brand new Relic skill tree for even more freedom for crafting one’s unique playstyle; and more.”
Don’t forget that CD Projekt RED will no longer be expanding Cyberpunk 2077 to consoles in 2013, so those who want to play Phantom Liberty will not be able to do so on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One or their mid-generation updates. You’ll need a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, or PC. The game is also available for purchase on SSteam, GOG and Epic Games Store. It will cost $30 and is due for release on September 26.
If the Poles have learned from their mistake with the base game, the add-on won’t be in a lousy state at launch…
