MOVIE NEWS – The Coen brothers, Joel and Ethan, are a well-established brand in Hollywood, the screenwriter-director brothers have earned lasting recognition with such critical and audience successes as Fargo and The Land for No Old Men.
So far, they have won 4 Oscars together in addition to more than a hundred other awards and twice as many nominations. Now, however, the time has come to work independently: the younger brother, Ethan, wrote and directed his new film alone, Drive-Away Dolls–, which not only represents a new milestone in his work.
“This film is doubly different than the previous ones,” the director told Collider. – There is a lot of action and sex in it, which was very exciting to cut. Joel and I have never put so much sex into any of our films before, and now I have the opportunity to experiment with it. Well, what can I say, it was really steep!”.
Ethan Coen’s job was made easier by the fact that the editor of Drive-Away Dolls was his own wife, Tricia Cooke, so they could safely take the work home for greater success.
The crime action thriller stars Margaret Qualley, who is considered one of Hollywood’s most promising young stars not because she is the daughter of Andie MacDowell, but because she is an amazing talent. Ethan Coen is sure about the male protagonist: Pedro Pascal, star of The Mandalorian and The Last of Us one botched his criminal character.
