Jensen Ackles Reacted Funnly at Rumours of DCU Batman Casting

MOVIE NEWS – Jensen Ackles responded to rumors of him playing Batman in James Gunn’s DC Universe, and his response drew laughter from the audience.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are running the DCU, and with that comes rumors of who will play the next Superman and Batman. The first Batman movie in the DCU will be called Batman: The Brave and The Bold and will focus on the meeting between Bruce Wayne and his son Damian. Many fans want Ackles to play Batman in this movie.

Ackles recently spoke at a fan event about wanting to play Batman in the DCU. The HomeofDCU clip makes it clear that Ackles wants to play Batman. “I could stand the idea of playing my favorite superhero of all time… I would love it. Sign me up!” Also, Ackles joked that the role will probably go to Pedro Pascal. “Would I be mad if Pedro Pascal got it? Yeah, I would. God bless you, Pedro. You just keep doing it, man. Let me know if you pass something.”

Ackles also mentioned the ongoing writer’s strike and how filming has been shut down everywhere. “There’s a strike in the entertainment industry, and until that’s resolved, nobody’s talking about anything.” According to Ackle, no one from the DC studio has talked to him about the role yet, but he’d be happy to take it. However, he also said, “Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell.”

It should be noted that Ackles has already played DC characters in their animated films. He provided the voice of Jason Todd in Batman: Under the Red Hood. He also voiced Batman in Batman: The Long Halloween and Legion of Super-Heroes. Ackles returns to voice Batman in DC’s upcoming animated film Justice League: Warworld.

In recent animated films, Ackles has proven that he can be a great voice for Batman. Based on his work in The Boys playing a live-action superhero, there’s no question why people think he should play the part. But Gunn has a specific vision for these movies, and it’s not clear what kind of Batman he wants in the movie. Plus, if The Lightning reboots the DCEU and the end of the movie is meant to set up the DCU, they might already have their Batman.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is being developed by DC Studios.
