The answer is a wide-eyed, slender, blonde lady who is wrapped in pink: Barbie, who achieved remarkable success not only in Hungary, but worldwide. The film attracted more than 111,000 viewers in Hungary, making it not only the most watched film of the weekend, but also the title of the most impressive premiere of 2023 so far.

The film with the character of Barbie played by Margot Robbie, which is also entertaining for adult viewers, has broken records worldwide and will probably continue to do so. It seems that Barbie is on the path to further success.

The film has already proven its success, grossing $337 million worldwide in its premiere weekend. In the United States, more than 4,200 theaters bought tickets for a total of $155 million, and an additional $180 million was spent on the film in the rest of the world. The audience loves the film, and the critics can’t help but praise it, which is also reflected in the viewing figures: in 2023, there was no film that was seen by so many people on the first day or the weekend.

Barbie is the film made by the most successful female director of all time, directed by Greta Gerwig, who has already made a name for herself. Maybe it’s time for a director Barbie?

After its premiere, Barbie topped the charts in 55 countries and became the most successful film of 2023 so far in 18 countries. For Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, who played the faithful character Ken, it was the biggest success of their careers so far.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the film is also popular in Hungary: from Thursday to Sunday, more than 111,000 people bought tickets for it, which means that, leaving behind even its strongest competitors, it achieved the biggest success of the year so far. Barbie broke not only the records of the year 2023, but also the record of the domestic revenues of the Warner Bros. studio, and the direction of Greta Gerwig was included in the top 20 most successful premiere films.
