Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to introduce a mind-bending shapeshifter, a character that not only transforms its appearance but its entire persona. Maggie Robertson, who bewitched players as the sultry villainess Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil: Village, lends her vocal prowess to this compelling role.
Robertson, acclaimed for her riveting performances in Resident Evil Village and God of War Ragnarök, steps into the shoes of Orin the Red in Baldur’s Gate 3.
News of her involvement has been brewing for some time, but now, the developer Larian has officially confirmed her character. In a recent video, Robertson introduces the forthcoming antagonist, who, thanks to his shapeshifting abilities, can appear anywhere, anytime in Baldur’s Gate 3. Orin can adopt the guise of anyone – even potentially infiltrating your camp.
Orin is “exceptionally cunning,” says Robertson, and won’t shy away from exploiting every trick to accomplish his objectives. Additionally, Orin’s connection to his blades is intensely personal – he perceives them as “real and individual entities.”
As Orin, Robertson joins the likes of JK Simmons and Jason Isaacs in the “unholy triumvirate” of Baldur’s Gate 3 villains.
Get a glimpse of Orin in his full malevolent glory in the video below.
Baldur’s Gate 3 launches on PC on August 3, with the PlayStation 5 version following close behind on September 6, in conjunction with the release of Starfield.
In anticipation of the launch, a new Humble Bundle offer includes additional titles from the Baldur’s Gate franchise for those looking for some gaming action while they wait.
