Everyone Was Waiting for a Remaster of this Rockstar Game and Rockstar Finally Cancelled it Because of GTA VI!

Rockstar has canceled the long-awaited project in favor of GTA 6, according to an insider. Rockstar Games is currently only working on one project, and it’s probably not too surprising that it’s GTA VI.

According to an insider, Rockstar Games has canceled several of its long-awaited projects in order to focus on the development of GTA VI. Although GTA VI was first announced last year, no official information has been released since then, with only a few gameplay videos leaking out.

The development studio has also been working on a number of projects, including remakes and sequels, but those plans have now been put on hold due to the monumental scale of GTA VI. The decision is understandable, but disappointing to many.

We have previously reported that the remakes of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption have also been delayed or, in all likelihood, canceled. Although there is currently a Red Dead Redemption port for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles, many believe that this adaptation was originally intended to be a full-blown remake.

Insiders have also revealed that one of Rockstar’s most anticipated projects, the next-gen update for Red Dead Redemption 2, has also been shelved due to GTA VI. With fans hungry for a 60 fps update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the news is a real blow to the community.

Tez2, a well-known Rockstar insider, shared that the project was already in development before it was finally canceled in favor of GTA VI. “I have long heard about the Red Dead Redemption 2 port and Rockstar’s plans to release an Enhanced Rockstar Editor. Now they’ve all been canceled,” he said.

Fans probably don’t need to be told how much they are looking forward to a 60fps update for Red Dead Redemption 2, especially for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. The fact that there has been no official information on this is not only a huge disappointment, but also a missed opportunity. Such an update could make one of the most beautiful open worlds in gaming history even more immersive.

While I am sure that GTA VI will be a milestone in video game history, right now I feel that the only thing missing is the ability to see Arthur Morgan’s character at 60 frames per second.
