Lots of New Xbox Games on the Horizon According to Microsoft!

According to Crystin Cox, Director of Live Game Operations at Microsoft Xbox Game Studios, there are more than a dozen games in development for the Xbox platform. He made the announcement at a Game Developers Conference (GDC) event last year, where he also reflected on production and team management processes.

The conference was attended by Cox and Peter Wyse, managing director of Xbox Game Publishing at Microsoft, and gave attendees an insight into how Xbox Game Studios Publishing supports developers.

A recording of the conversation was recently uploaded to Microsoft’s Game Dev channel, which was spotted by Twitter user ‘Idle Sloth’. In the conversation, Cox talked about Xbox Game Studios’ publishing activities.

According to Cox, Microsoft has more than a dozen new custom game titles being worked on by various outside studios. “We’re working on a number of projects right now, over a dozen games,” said the director of live game operations. He added: “Each project is completely unique and we’re tackling them in a bespoke way.”

While there are some known projects that XGS Publishing is working on, it is likely that there are also games being developed in secret. We know of games such as Towerborne, Project Tatanka, Hideo Kojima’s new project, and presumably IO Interactive and People Can Fly are also working on new games. It is important to note that these games are not developed internally by Xbox Game Studios, but are titles developed by external studios and will be published by Microsoft.

In this regard, Microsoft recently announced that several new games are expected to arrive by 2025, with Starfield being the first in a multi-year development series. Jerret West, head of Xbox marketing at Microsoft, said. I’m excited from a marketing perspective. Game Pass and third-party relationships and third-party support that goes into Game Pass is critical. I feel like this is the beginning of a period that will be really special in the coming years.
