The franchise is getting a sequel after a long time, with the original’s designer and director Paul Cuisset in the mix; it doesn’t get any more authentic than this!

According to Microids, Flashback revolutionized action gaming in 1992 and has gone on to achieve legendary status as one of the top 100 video games in history! Developed by the original game’s creator, Paul Cuisset, in collaboration with Microids’ Lyon/Paris studios, Flashback 2 will offer an experience faithful to the Flashback universe and will bring back some members of the original Flashback team, such as Thierry Perreau in game design and Raphael Gesqua, the renowned composer of the Amiga version of Flashback.
Here’s a quote from the press release: “In the heart of a dystopian future, the game’s hero, Conrad B. Hart, must confront the fearsome Morphs, who seek to enslave all life in the solar system. To prevent them from carrying out their diabolical plan, players will have to use all their skills in a fast-paced platform shooter that offers impressive fluidity and precision.
Flashback 2 will be digitally released on November 16th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The retail version will be available in Europe on November 30 and in North America in early 2024.
