A Hogwarts Legacy PC player has shared an exciting clip of an amazing dragon riding mod in action, and fans are loving the result.
As one of the biggest releases of 2023, Hogwarts Legacy has quickly caught the attention of the modder community, who have created some exciting PC mods, including a dragon riding mod. Flying has been one of the most popular elements of the game, and while Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t feature Quidditch, the ability to fly on dragons has already proved enticing to fans everywhere.
One of the most popular releases this year is Hogwarts Legacy, an RPG adventure game based on the world of Harry Potter. Players can explore the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as well as the surrounding forests and nearby village of Hogwarts. Those who want to speed up their journey can opt for horses, broomsticks, and creatures, although dragons remain exclusive to those with the special game mode.
One Hogwarts Legacy player shared a clip of his character flying the infamous Hungarian Horntail dragon using the DragonOgryff mod in the PC version of the game. The dragon, though smaller than its movie counterpart, can be seen taking off from the Hogwarts grounds and soaring over the school and its surroundings. The huge dragon, which is an impressive sight, flies just above the rooftops of Hogsmeade before cruising along the nearby hills and landing on a grassy peak. Shortly after landing, the player will return the kite to its bag. Other beast-riders in Hogwarts Legacy, such as the Thestral and Hippogriff, can be summoned and stored in a similar manner using the Equipment Inventory. Broomsticks are some of the most commonly used riding mounts, although the dragon proves to be a much more formidable and memorable ride for many.

Hogwarts Legacy players were very impressed with the quality of the mod, noting the detail of the dragon and the smoothness of the flight animation. Others were disappointed to learn that the mod is PC-only. A few commenters pointed out that recent updates to Hogwarts Legacy have been detrimental to the game’s modding capabilities, and questioned whether this DragonOgryff mod might be short-lived. Whether or not this mod will be affected by future updates remains to be seen, but for now, fans are enjoying riding dragons in Hogwarts Castle.
With a huge fan base and plenty of story to build on, Hogwarts Legacy could add a lot of potential content to the game. The modding community has greatly expanded the replayability of the game, though many fans are still hoping for official content updates and confirmation on the status of the Hogwarts Legacy sequel. For now, fans of Hogwarts Legacy can enjoy the content shared by the community, and Switch players can look forward to the game’s release on that console in November.
Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, with the Nintendo Switch version coming out on 14 November 2023.
