The stories of two families are intertwined by visions, a cult, and monsters.
Genvid has announced a partnership with Sony Picture Entertainment for Silent Hill: Ascension to bring weekly episodes of player-driven storylines to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 via the Sony Pictures Core app, to Sony Bravia televisions via the Bravia Core app, and to select Xperia smartphones via the Bravia Core for Xperia app. Of course, you can also watch the series elsewhere.
Silent Hill: Ascension is an immersive, interactive streaming series that follows the complex lives of two families in peril, linked by a series of disturbing visions and terrifying monstrosities that drive them to the brink of damnation. Viewers are taken to the troubled rust-belt town of Hope’s Junction, Pennsylvania, which is rebuilding after a fatal steel mill accident decimated its economy. Another death shatters the community, and Rachel Hernandez is blamed. Halfway around the world, in a dying fishing village in Norway called Stilledalen, the uneasy peace of the Johansen family is shattered when their matriarch, Ingrid, dies under suspicious circumstances. Each character’s survival depends on overcoming their darkest impulses and painful pasts as they confront their own horrors and discover the mysterious connections that bind them together. Will these characters find redemption, suffering, or damnation?
Genvid Interactive Series Creator and Chief Creative Officer Stephan Bugaj said in a press release, “We are thrilled to introduce the Johansen and Hernandez families to the Silent Hill universe. As they delve deeper into their own horrors and their towns are simultaneously consumed by mass hysteria, these two families will discover strange connections between them despite being a world apart.” Genvid CEO Jacob Navok added, “There has never been an experience like Silent Hill: Ascension before. It’s not a game, it’s an interactive streaming series that will change as the audience makes decisions together. While I’m executive producing the title, I don’t know how it will end. That is in your hands. And the content you create will be streamed to TVs and phones around the world through our relationships with Sony Pictures, Google, Apple and others. Participating in Silent Hill: Ascension every day means you’ll be a part of history that will never come again. Pete Wood, Senior Vice President, Sony Pictures Entertainment New Media Distribution, said, “We are breaking new ground with Silent Hill: Ascension. Through this unique venture with Genvid, we are excited to offer viewers on Sony devices a weekly catch-up on the action of Silent Hill: Ascension with full episodes of edited scenes from this innovative, interactive series.
Silent Hill: Ascension launches on October 31st via our browser, but can also be found on the App Store and Google Play.
