MOVIE NEWS – An Avengers actor reportedly wants to leave the MCU due to toxic fan feedback. But will he feel the same way after the latest film?

The Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson is reportedly disillusioned. She doesn’t want to play Carol Danvers in the Marvel Universe (MCU) again after facing “toxic fan backlash”.

Larson, who is known for her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, has faced significant criticism since joining the superhero franchise.

The comic book movie genre and its blockbuster status have attracted a torrent of trolls and online attacks. This has reportedly taken its toll on Larson and destroyed her faith in her role as Captain Marvel.

According to a new book, MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, author Joanna Robinson claims Larson became disillusioned while playing Captain Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel. “The future of those Marvel icons was unclear. The departure of franchise anchors like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson had already taken its toll, as had the shocking loss of Chadwick Boseman, but other MCU stalwarts were heading for the exits,” Robinson wrote. “The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy ‘cast went on a farewell tour, Brie Larson grew disillusioned, and Marvel tussled with Sony in a custody battle over Tom Holland.”

In an interview on The Watch podcast, Robinson reiterated what she wrote in her book. She revealed that Larson reportedly no longer wants to play Captain Marvel. Even though Marvel Studios has plans for the character. “[Marvel Studios] put Brie Larson in [a prominent place in the MCU],” Robinson said.

“I don’t know if Brie Larson was the wrong person for the role necessarily. But the toxic backlash means that Brie Larson doesn’t want to play Carol Danvers anymore.”

Robinson’s recent comments have fans worried about the character’s future in the MCU. Whether it’s Captain Marvel or The Avengers: Endgame, Larson has defied all expectations and gone on to deliver a powerful performance. With notable actors like Downey Jr. and Evans departing, the Captain Marvel actress could be the next big star to leave the franchise. It will be interesting to see how Larson feels after the release of the upcoming Marvel movie. Or, how Marvel Studios will try to keep her in the MCU.
