Microsoft is updating its Xbox Game Pass service again, this time with a new day one game with great reviews.

The latest update to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service has added two versions of the newly released Football Manager 2024 for subscribers. Day One games are one of the main reasons anyone subscribes to Game Pass, so Microsoft makes sure there are new Day One games for subscribers to play on a regular basis.

Moreover, Microsoft has already added a new day-one game to the November 2023 offer of Game Pass. Game Pass November 2023 began with the November 2 release of Thirsty Suitors, which was made available to subscribers in the cloud, Xbox consoles and PC. The latest update to Xbox Game Pass adds another day-one game with different variations depending on whether one is playing on PC or console.

Starting today, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play Football Manager 2024 on PC and Football Manager 2042 Console in the cloud, on Xbox consoles, and on PC. There aren’t many differences between the versions, although Football Manager 2024 Console supports cross-play between PlayStation and Xbox. The regular PC version of the game will require a compatible PC and a subscription to PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which bundles PC Game Pass and vanilla Game Pass into one package.

Football Manager 2024’s day one release is enough to get excited about, but what makes the game even more appealing is its high review scores. Most Football Manager games tend to be released to largely positive reviews, and this latest installment in the long-running series is no different. Football Manager 2024 boasts an overall rating of 83 at the time of writing, making it one of the highest-rated Game Pass games of the year.

However, there were new Game Pass games released in Football Manager 2023 that received higher ratings than Football Manager 2024. In fact, some of the new games from the entire year 2023 debuted as Game Pass games on day one, among them, Bethesda’s open-world sci-fi RPG Starfield and the critically acclaimed retro RPG Sea of Stars stand out.

It’s possible that some of the other Day One Xbox Game Pass games coming out in November 2023 will also be included in the conversation. Games like Dungeons 9 and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will arrive on November 9th, while the atmospheric Spirittea will be released on November 13th. And with Persona 5 Tactica coming on November 17th, Game Pass subscribers will have plenty to do this month, to say the least.
