Insomniac Games Is Not Stopping With Spider-Man Games!

While a team at Sony hasn’t openly said that they are developing new Marvel’s Spider-Man games in the future, they have implicitly confirmed it in a thought…

Ben Arfmann (narrative director) and Brittney Morris (advanced writer) gave an interview to Gizmodo about the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which features two Spider-Men. In addition to the original (Peter Parker), Miles Morales, who appears in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which can also be considered a standalone DLC, has been added to the current PlayStation 5 exclusive storyline, which will surely be released on PC later.

The goal was always to have Miles Morales as the main Spider-Man over time, and the moment where Peter Parker passes the baton was worked out early on, and the scene got better and better as the game progressed. “It always felt very natural and I think we all collectively thought it would happen. To me, it shows a lot of Miles’ growth; at the beginning of the game, we see him struggling to figure out what he wants to do with his life. By the end, we had Miles carrying the burden of saving the city and also carrying Pete when Pete wasn’t strong enough to carry himself at various points,” Morris said.

“To echo what Brittney said, the idea of having two Spider-Man stories was always really important to this game. I think we knew pretty early on that we wanted to have that moment of handing over the reins. And as we developed it, as we started to lay out more of the path to that moment, it just felt more and more right,” Arfmann added.

If they hadn’t built something in from the ground up, Miles Morales taking over the defence of the city wouldn’t have been such a big part of it. So while Marvel’s Wolverine is being made for PlayStation 5, there’s bound to be at least one DLC after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. And that’s going to be hard to argue with.
