MOVIE NEWS – An American version of The Visit, the multiple award-winning festival favorite, is being made with James McAvoy in the lead role.
A Danish family visits a Dutchman they met while on vacation. Making friends becomes more and more unpleasant for the Danes, but they try to put on a good face until it turns out that it can all last until blood is spilled.
It has happened before that the film version made from Scandinavian material was not as hard as the original, but in the current case, the guarantee is that one of the screenwriters of the Danish film, Mads Tafdrup, will also contribute to the success of the new version in the same capacity. The director of Speak No Evil is an Englishman, James Watkins, who made his mark 15 years ago with an excellent thriller, which can also be related to the new film as a psychological thriller. In the multi-award-winning Killing Views, he wants to spend a couple of romantic weekends on the shores of a small lake, but the harassment of the people in the neighborhood proves to be unbearable until blood is spilled.
