Arizona Sunshine II: A Big Focus On Cooperative Gameplay [VIDEO]

Vertigo Games’ first-person virtual reality action-adventure game will also be playable with others on the other target platforms, providing a solid example of cross-platform play.

The game will have full cross-platform functionality, allowing two players to play through the story and four players to play the endless Horde mode. The cooperative, freestyle gameplay builds on the first part. More content will be added to Arizona Sunshine II after launch, with three Horde mode maps confirmed and more details to be announced later. There will also be an update to Meta Quest 3 that will allow owners of this device to play at a higher resolution, and with the update coming in December, dynamic objects will have real-time shadows.

In the fifteen minute video, Arizona Sunshine II director Peter Deurloo presented new footage from the game, so we got to see a little bit of the new standalone story by Rob Yescombe (The Invisible Hours, Farpoint), but we also got to see some details about our dog Buddy. We can also expect a new generation of combat mechanics, so you can manually reload your weapon, and there will be melee combat as well.

In case you missed the first installment, the franchise has been discounted by up to 80%, as both the base game and the DLC have been temporarily discounted on Steam, and the Arizona Sunshine II Deluxe Edition has been given a pre-order discount, and for good reason, as the game’s release is not that far away. (It’s less than a month away).

Arizona Sunshine II will be released on December 7th for PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest and SteamVR. It’s rare to see full-fledged cross-play between VR platforms (even in the campaign), so Vertigo Games is doing a great job with this one.
