First teased in August last year and revealed in August this year, it’s not the RPG you might expect, but it’s more than nothing from Question (the developers of this game) and THQ Nordic.
Here’s an overview of the game: “Play as the new kid in South Park and join Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny in three-dimensional glory as they celebrate the most magical day of a young kid’s life – a snow day! Grab up to three friends in this four-player co-operative game and battle your way through the snow-covered town of South Park to save the world and enjoy a day without school. It’s a snow day, dude! It’s an all-new 3D co-op game. A blizzard of epic proportions has blanketed the town of South Park and it’s up to Cartman, Stan, Kenny, Kyle and you as the New Kid to save the day.
Experience cooperative gameplay for the first time in a South Park game with up to three friends or allied bots – unleash powerful, coordinated attacks on your enemies. Equip and upgrade devastating melee and ranged weapons. Use special abilities and powers to bring hordes of enemies and epic bosses to their knees. Use a wide range of iconic cosmetics and customise your New Kid with endless possible combinations of hats, Cheesy Poof T-shirts and chin balls.
South Park: Snow Day! will be released sometime in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC. THQ Nordic hasn’t given a more specific release date, but the pricing suggests that it won’t be a full-fledged AAA product, as $30 is a far cry from the $70 that’s all so trendy these days. We wonder when THQ Nordic and Embracer Group will consider making another South Park RPG, as it would satisfy fans of the franchise.
