PlayStation Stars members who spent money on the PlayStation Store during the holidays will start receiving the Stars Points they should have earned. Normally, PlayStation Stars members receive PS Stars points for each PlayStation purchase.
Recently, PlayStation Stars users have widely reported that they have not received Stars points in exchange for spending money on the PlayStation Store. This naturally caused a lot of confusion and frustration among PlayStation Stars members, as no one wants to miss out on Stars points that can be exchanged for free games or PlayStation Store money. Some users have spent hundreds of dollars only to receive zero points in return. Fortunately, it looks like PlayStation has started rolling out a solution.
Pushsquare reported that users are already receiving the Stars they should have been receiving for the past month or so. This appears to be a gradual rollout rather than a general update, so if fans still don’t see Stars points in their accounts, hopefully they will soon. During the time that Stars points were malfunctioning, plenty of PlayStation Stars members bought in to take advantage of PlayStation’s holiday sales, so this update will likely come as a relief to many PlayStation users. Users can contact PlayStation support if they do not receive their points in the next few days.
What rewards can PlayStation Stars members earn?
PlayStation Stars members can currently redeem their Stars Points for a selection of high quality games including Stardew Valley, Cuphead, Risk of Rain, Exit the Gungeon and many more. Each of the games listed earlier requires a minimum of 2,500 points, so players need to set aside plenty of points to unlock them for free.
Additionally, PlayStation Stars members can redeem Stars points for store credit, which requires 1,250 points for $5 or 5,000 points for $20. Users earn roughly ten points for every dollar spent on the PlayStation Store. Alternatively, users can earn points by completing “Campaigns”, which can be completed by purchasing or playing certain games. Some campaigns also reward players with digital collectibles. Digital collectibles for January 2024 include a retro lunch box, a snow globe and more. However, the PlayStation Stars program is not the only benefit that PlayStation users can take advantage of.
PlayStation Plus members can enjoy many multiplayer games for free in January 2024. This lineup includes titles like Dead by Daylight, The Elder Scrolls Online, The Division 2, Civilization 6, For Honor, and more.
