The director of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered responded to the criticism surrounding the new game. Some fans objected to the studio remastering a game that was recently released in 2020, but the developer explained what makes The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered worth the price.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will be released on January 19th and will cost $50 for new fans or $10 for those who already own the 2020 version. Remastered titles have become commonplace over the past decade or so, and some fans worry that the focus on such games could distract studios from creating new content. As one of PlayStation’s best series, fans are understandably anxious for Naughty Dog to start focusing on the next Last of Us title, but the director behind The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has explained why the project is worth pursuing.

In an interview with VGC, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered director Matthew Gallant was asked about his thoughts on the backlash surrounding the game. He explained: “I don’t understand the hype about what The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has to offer. It’s the best way to play The Last of Us Part 2, if you’re a new PlayStation owner and new to the franchise, we want to give you the best experience possible. with all the hardware features of the PS5 native version of the game.” Gallant further explained that a significant number of fans are extremely excited for the upcoming release of the game. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered offers new content and improved graphics, while fans of The Last of Us already have to pay a fairly reasonable price of $10.

The most interesting feature of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is the new No Return mode, a roguelike twist on the popular story-based game. In this mode, users can fight their way through different stages while trying to stay alive as long as possible. No Return offers players challenges to complete that offer new characters and rewards. This extensive new mode is probably one of Naughty Dog’s main reasons for releasing the remastered title.

This is the best way to play The Last of Us Part 2, if you are a new PlayStation owner and new to the franchise, we want to give you the best experience…

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered also includes three new levels cut from the original game. These levels are fairly short compared to what shipped with the original title, but they all shed more light on Ellie’s emotionally complex story.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered also features revamped graphics, making it one of the best-looking games on PS5. The new game also implements the PS5 DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functions. According to reviews, the game’s visual updates aren’t ground-breaking, but they do improve the original title’s already impressive graphics somewhat, which is likely to wow new fans.
