This might be a good way to get people off the backs of Insomniac Games developers who think they can get away with threats, because the harassment is not about urgency, but rather about playing with nerves.
Insomniac Games has announced on Twitter that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is currently only available for PlayStation 5 (and development on the PC port may be completed by the end of March; release will be sometime in the summer, possibly fall as Sony doesn’t want to rush it), will soon receive the New Game+ update. In general, this means that you’ll start the second playthrough with the skills and equipment you picked up in the first, and in return, your opponents will be much stronger than they were in the first playthrough.
This time will be no different, but that’s not the only way the studio is doing things with the content update coming on March 7. The New Game+ update will also include new costumes for Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as well as other new additions. However, we can’t go into more detail because the studio will only reveal more details closer to launch and there’s not much point in speculating at this stage. A month is not a long time and maybe in two or three weeks the studio will tell us everything. We’ll certainly get this content by default in the PC port, as it’s common for the full release of a game to be ported to Steam or the Epic Games Store (the first Swallow, Horizon Zero Dawn, followed suit).
So the developers really needed some time, which can be understood from the perspective that they had a major ransomware attack at the end of the year, and so we wrote earlier about what games Insomniac Games plans to release in the next 6-7 years (and there will be some new IP, not just Marvel IP).
