When there are a lot of rumors about a topic, there is bound to be something going on; in the hardware arena, it’s the PlayStation 5 Pro, and in the gaming scene, it’s Persona 6.
On the ResetEra forum, the leaker formerly known as Not a Hero Too, Head on the Block, talked about the game being developed by Atlus. Since he has a history of providing accurate information about the franchise before it becomes official, it’s worth considering that he might be telling the truth this time around. For example, he claims that the main color of Persona 6 will be green, while the story theme will work with black and white (like Persona 5).
The two colors are no coincidence, as the story will focus on two different sides. There will be two protagonists with two different perspectives, and one of the protagonists will be a female, but she will only be controllable outside of dungeons and battles, so certainly only in the real world. There will be a lot of DLC planned by Atlus and SEGA, as you will probably be able to customize your character (so there will be a lot of monetization opportunities for the publisher if this rumor is true).
According to Head on the Block, Persona 6 won’t be PlayStation exclusive, and since we recently reported that the game is rumored to be coming to Xbox, it’s likely to appear on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch successor (the former according to Nate the Hate, the latter according to a SEGA insider, Midori). However, we can expect some timed exclusivity, so Xbox Series won’t get the new Persona on the same day as PlayStation 5. The game will definitely be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day as the Japanese release.
Persona 6 is reportedly in the final stages of development, but don’t expect it to be released this year, sometime in 2025 (which makes sense for the Switch sequel, since it’s also due out in a year). All this is unofficial.
