Industria II: What If Artificial Intelligence Ruled Everything? [VIDEO]

Bleakmill continues the story of its narrative-driven first-person shooter, and the alternate dimension shows what it’s like when humanity loses control of artificial intelligence.

Industria II is a gripping narrative first-person shooter set in an alternate dimension ruled by a malevolent artificial intelligence. The game’s protagonist, Nora, is lost in a dangerous, unfamiliar world. Navigating this hostile terrain, she must confront dangerous robots, unravel the mystery of the sinister AI, and ultimately find her way back home to 1989 East Berlin. (Then again, that place wasn’t so good either, though it was just months before the Berlin Wall fell).

With its immersive gameplay, Industria II features physics-based interactions, along with crafting and a diegetic inventory that connects the game and its environments. At its core, Industria II is a narrative first-person shooter with memorable characters and a moving story set in a unique environment: industrial decay in a vast boreal landscape combined with otherworldly, sprawling mechanical structures. Upgrade five weapons with attachments such as silencers, extended magazines, or special attacks. The game features robot “body horror” as vivid machine oil spills and body dismemberment lead to intense firefights. Industria II also features full voice acting, dynamic music, and detailed sound design for an exceptional audio experience.

East Berlin is not a common feature in games these days, and for that reason alone, it might grab the audience’s attention. Why don’t we see a bigger project with this setting and era? The Stasi (the East German secret police) could be portrayed very well…

HeadUp Games won’t be releasing Industria II this year, as Bleakmill is reportedly not releasing the game until next year, and it’s currently only announced for PC, so don’t really expect to see it on PlayStation 5, Xbox series, or even the Nintendo Switch successor. So we’ll only see it on Steam and the Epic Games Store sometime in 2025.
