Dragon’s Dogma 2: Mods To Combat Microtransactions

Capcom is also trying to improve the state of the game, but they won’t help with the microtransactions that appear in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which can at least be worked around on PC, but there’s not much chance of that on console.

There are also several items in the game that can be obtained through microtransactions. All of the items listed below are available in-game or as paid DLC items. Art of Metamorphosis for the character editor, Ambivalent Rift Incense to change the inclination of the pawn, Portcrystal as a warp location marker, Wakestone to resurrect the dead, 500/1500/2500 Rift Crystals as points to spend on Beyond the Rift, Makeshift Gaol Key to escape the gaol, and Harpysnare Smoke Beacons as a Harpy lure.

There are several mods for these. Crazy’s Shop in Vernworth, one of the early towns, has an extra shop where you can get all the items without paying Capcom any money. And the Early n’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis makes character mod items available pretty early on. There is not only a mod for this, but also for the Nvidia DLSS 3 integration. This technology is available on Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards, giving us access to better upscaling thanks to the fans.

Meanwhile, Capcom has promised more updates. On each platform, they want you to be able to restart the game if you already have saves, the Art of Metamorphosis item limit would be 99, they want to make available earlier the quest where you can get your own hideout (where you can save and rest), and they want to fix a lot of bugs and text rendering. For PlayStation 5 and Xbox series, there will be an option to disable ray tracing and motion blur, and the frame rate can be limited to 30 FPS. For Steam, the goal is to improve image quality when DLSS Super Resolution is enabled and to avoid low quality on multiple models when using certain settings.

But it’s really sad that once again the fans are doing what the developers should be doing.
