Unusual as it may seem, Take-Two is still able to make money, as Rockstar Games also has a monthly subscription service, although here too the lack of creativity in naming is more than apparent, as we have seen elsewhere that they add an extra symbol at the end of a name…
GTA+ (which costs $6 a month) gives you access to selected Rockstar games (and rotates frequently, so if you miss something, it’s available again later), and it’s also good for those who play Grand Theft Auto Online frequently, as it gives you extra money, cars, content and exclusive events. (For this reason, it could be argued that the subscription is more for Grand Theft Auto Online players, and the extra games have been added just to make the offer seem a bit more appealing…)
Rockstar recently announced that GTA+ subscribers will receive LA Noire and Bully later this year. Last week, the service was expanded to include Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare DLC, making it the fourth game to join the system (technically not). Previously, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Degenerate… or we mean Definitive Edition (Xbox, PlayStation), Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (iOS, Android), and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (iOS, Android) joined the service. Since there are three games in the GTA trilogy, Red Dead Redemption is technically the sixth game, not the fourth…
Rockstar is now focusing all of its efforts on Grand Theft Auto VI. For this reason, the studio has decided that there will be no hybrid work model starting in April, so with the suspension of home offices, everyone will have to work in offices again for safety and productivity reasons (and once again, the much-used but reprehensible crunch in the gaming industry will be used…). GTA VI is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox in 2025.
