Sony and PC aren’t exactly in the same sentence these days, but the company is reportedly already working on a PC port of the 2018 God of War sequel.
Sony and PC really are not on the best of terms. We’ve been following the Helldivers 2 issue closely over the past week, and you still can’t buy Arrowhead’s popular live service game in many countries, including the Baltic states (it seems Sony doesn’t care about the concept of a common market in the European Union, as you pay in euros in all three countries!), and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is rumored to require a PlayStation Network account, even though the story can be played alone, so Sucker Punch’s game is also “banned”…

Nevertheless, billbil-kun on Dealabs has reported what he has learned from Sony. It’s not about PlayStation Plus Essential games (he’s leaked about that in the past), but it’s interesting: He says that God of War: Ragnarök will also be coming to PC from consoles. The port will be announced in May, but not during the rumored State of Play/PlayStation Showcase broadcast, just in a blog post on the PlayStation Blog (as was the case with Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut), and was previously rumored to be released in Q1 2025, with The Last of Us Part II Remastered port just a few months away.
Perhaps Sony will accept that there’s only a few months between the release of two PC ports, as Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut were only two months apart. The only question is whether the story of Kratos and Atreus will require a PlayStation Network account… if so, that would be a bit of a scandal.
But it’s not official yet.
