Arsene Lupin: Once a Thief: Who Else but Microids? [VIDEO]

Blazing Griffin is developing the game for Microids, which has been following a strategy in recent years that you wouldn’t recognize at first glance.

We’ve seen plenty of instances where the French publisher has made game adaptations of a number of IPs from the French-speaking world (thus introducing us to things we might not know by default), and this time Microids has done no different, as Arsene Lupin is the name of a French writer, Maurice Leblanc, who created the gentleman thief character in 1905.

Embark on a captivating journey through this adventure puzzle game that explores the early life, loves, and crimes of the iconic Gentleman Thief. Immerse yourself in the famous stories of Maurice Leblanc, playing as both Lupin and his tireless adversary, Detective Ganimard, and gain unique perspectives on legendary stories such as “The Arrest of Arsene Lupin” and “Herlock Sholmes Arrives Too Late”. Join Lupin and Leblanc by the fireside as they retell a selection of the most famous stories of Lupin’s exploits and experience them from a whole new perspective.

Explore beautiful book illustrations brought to life and meet colorful characters that leap off the pages as Lupin retells his own escapades with a flair for the dramatic. Traverse a variety of locations, solve puzzles, and adopt a variety of disguises as you embark on exciting criminal escapades, always striving to outsmart the law and stay one step ahead. See the stories from a new perspective as you immerse yourself in Ganimard’s role, searching for evidence, interrogating suspects, creating timelines, and connecting the dots to track down and apprehend your legendary adversary.

Herlock Sholmes is no typo: Leblanc was openly referring to the detective character of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle… But anyway, Arsene Lupin: Once a Thief is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year.
