Resident Evil: Not a Remake of What We’ve Heard so far?

The rumor mill surrounding Capcom’s franchise is getting a little more divisive, with an insider with not always accurate information now claiming the opposite of what has been said so far.

Taking to Twitter, AestheticGamer/Dusk Golem has essentially denied the rumors of both Resident Evil 9 and Resident Evil 1 Remake: “F_ck it, I choose to be the one to burst the bubble in a bigger way of what’s going on with Resident Evil stuff. First, I would like to dispel the expectations of Resident Evil 9 being announced this summer period.

The first rumors I heard are now true, and the announcement of Resident Evil 9 is further away than this coming summer. Sorry for the back and forth, that’s my fault. The Resident Evil 1 Remake rumors are bullshit, as far as I know RE:1 is not in any form of development right now. The Resident Evil 5 remake is not in active development either. It’s funny to see that this is what people think is happening publicly.

Resident Evil 9 is being pushed back to late 2025/2026. If everything I’ve heard is correct, which I fully believe it is, and I know others have hinted at this, and I’m not the first to say this publicly, it just hasn’t caught on yet, there is actually a remake of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil Code Veronica in development right now. I’ve talked to many others behind the scenes about this at this point, it’s something I heard over a year ago, I think it was going to come out whether I was the one to say it or not, and that’s about it,” the insider wrote.

So, Resident Evil 9 is in the works, but he says it’s unlikely to be revealed this summer. There will be no remake of the first Resident Evil, but Zero and Code Veronica could get a remake instead. But the first part should be done and then a remake of CV and then 5 would be logical because of Chris Redfield’s presence…

None of this is official though.
