Burning Sword: Death Sun: Wuxia Fights, but not from Chinese Devs! [VIDEO]

This is the first time we’ve seen Nomadic Games’ game in a video, but the intrigue isn’t so much in the gameplay as it is in the studio’s origins, a country we rarely hear about in the gaming industry.

Burning Sword: Death Sun immerses players in an ancient martial world where Zhang Yìxian, a top-ranked sword master, seeks to avenge his fallen master in a seamless blend of challenging Soulslike gameplay and fluid hack-and-slash action, creating a uniquely compelling experience unlike any other. Amidst an era of chaos and turmoil, marked by oppression and brutality, various martial sects have expanded their dominion and seized control of the entire kingdom.

In their relentless pursuit of dominance, the martial masters will fight and kill anyone who gets in their way. Zhang Yìxian, leader of the Crimson Dust Demon Sect, rises from the depths of hell with the sole purpose of taking revenge on the supreme ruler, Gao Tian Qi. An endless battle between two formidable martial arts masters, but only one will prevail.

Encounter diverse combat scenarios and master your martial arts skills through secret techniques and inner strength. Empower yourself with the Burning Sword to maintain your stance and amplify your attacks, unleashing even greater power in duels with martial arts masters from across the martial arts world. You must use physical strength, inner strength, and sect techniques to defeat each master you encounter along the way. Enter the world of martial arts filled with the classic artistry of Chinese wuxia movies. Use sword techniques, palm strikes, and inner strength.

Burning Sword: Death Sun, powered by Unreal Engine 5, is being developed by a studio in Thailand (!). That makes the game unique, even if it doesn’t seem that original. It’s currently announced for PC only (perhaps with more interest and a publishing partner, it could make its way to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and possibly the Nintendo Switch successor), and will launch on Steam in 2025.
