Mortal Kombat: Homelander Will Soon Join [VIDEO]

Not only will the game from NetherRealm Studios be adding a character to its main cast, but the Kameo roster will also be expanding soon in the latest installment of the more than three-decade franchise.

Homelander is the most powerful being on the planet and the leader of The Seven, the elite team of superheroes owned and managed by Vought International. In a world where “Supes” are made, he’s the strongest of them all. Homelander presents himself as the ultimate patriot and protector, but don’t let his movie star good looks or high approval rating fool you.

He is a murderous, narcissistic sociopath with an insatiable need for approval, love, and power. Homelander’s destruction of enemies and lust for power does not end with his world. Challengers from other realms will also face his wrath. As seen in the new video, Homelander asserts his dominance over opponents through his super strength, aerial attacks, and ability to laser enemies with his eyes. The trailer also offers a first look at the gameplay of Ferra, a new DLC Kameo Fighter who can assist in combat with a variety of support moves. Ferra will be available as part of the Kombat Pack and for standalone purchase in June 2024.

Homelander may be familiar to you from The Boys, but not from the comics, but from the Amazon series The Boys, which uses the comics as source material. So it’s not much different from what we’ve come to expect from NetherRealm and Warner Bros. Discovery, the gaming subsidiary of Warner Bros. NetherRealm’s other series, Injustice, pits characters from the DC Comics universe against each other. It’s probably what NetherRealm returned to after the release of Mortal Kombat 1, and it’s about time.

Homelander will be available on June 4th for those who have purchased the first Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack (Season Pass), but those who haven’t will have to wait a week this time around, as it will be available for the rest of us on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC on June 11th. Ferra will be joining the Kameo roster later this month, sometime in June.
