Star Wars Fans Flooded Heroes Square in Budapest with Lightsabers

MOVIE NEWS – Hungarian Star Wars fans gathered on Sunday evening to illuminate Budapest’s iconic square with their lightsabers. More than a hundred costumed and civilian people appeared at the event to evoke the eternal struggle between the light and dark sides of the Force.

Heroes Square in Budapest was the scene of a spectacular light show on Sunday evening, where fans of the world’s most famous film universe gathered to celebrate the release of the “Star Wars: The Acolyte” series on June 5.

The event was organized by several fan clubs, the Rebel Legion Hungary, The Force Alliance-Hungarian Galaktikus Fan Club and the 501st Legion Hungarian Garrison. The latter are members of an official international fan and charity organization, which has more than 14,000 members in 66 countries since its establishment in 1997. Their mission is to introduce people to the modern mythology of George Lucas. The Hungarian Garrison was founded nearly 20 years ago and is made up of volunteers who make exact replicas of the figures of the Star Wars universe and wear them at various fan gatherings and charity events. The number of their costumers reaches 50.

Throughout the evening, fans used their lightsabers to evoke the eternal struggle between the light and dark sides of the Force, all of which provided a stunning sight as blue, green and red lights danced in front of the iconic statues of Heroes Square under the darkening sky. The gathered crowd proves that love and admiration for the Star Wars universe knows no bounds, and the images take us to a galaxy far, far away.
