There is a big mistake on the website of the studio developing the game, as the game’s director Carrie Patel first put the release date in the post, and then suddenly they took it out…
Welcome to the Living Lands, a mysterious island full of adventure and danger. Set in the fictional world of Eora, first introduced to players in the Pillars of Eternity franchise, Avowed is a first-person fantasy action-RPG from the award-winning team at Obsidian Entertainment. You are an emissary from Aedyr, a distant land, sent to investigate rumors of a plague spreading throughout the Living Lands – an island of mystery and secrets, danger and adventure, choices and consequences, and untamed wilderness. You will discover a personal connection to the Living Lands and an ancient secret that threatens to destroy everything.
The Living Lands is a place that feels foreign, yet somehow intimate, as if the island itself is calling out to you for help. Explore an island that is home to many different environments and landscapes, each with its own unique ecosystem. Mix and match swords, spells, guns, and shields to fight your way. Dip into your grimoire for spells to trap, freeze, or burn enemies, smash them with your shield, or use ranged bows to attack from afar. Companions from a variety of species will fight alongside you, each with their own unique abilities. From a former mercenary to an eccentric wizard, they will be a part of your journey, shaped by the choices you make as you aid them in their quests.
The official release date is 2024, but in the post, Patel revealed exactly when Obsidian’s next game will be available to play. According to Carrie Patel, Avowed will be released on November 12th. This was quickly deleted from the post, but the screenshot and the archived website prove that it is indeed coming this Tuesday.
So Avowed is supposedly coming on November 12, but officially sometime in 2024 for Xbox Series and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), but will also be part of Xbox Game Pass.
