Norse: It’s not the Name that Makes this Viking RPG Interesting! [VIDEO]

Arctic Hazard didn’t really go overboard with the name, but don’t judge this multiplatform strategy RPG by that…

Norse is a turn-based tactical game set in Viking Age Norway. Build a settlement, forge alliances and fight strategic battles. Manage a community of craftsmen, farmers, and warriors as you grow strong on your path to vengeance. Enter the rugged, untamed beauty of ancient Norway in Norse, a turn-based tactics game that plunges you into the heart of the Viking Age. Embark on an epic quest for vengeance as Gunnar, a young warrior whose destiny is forged in blood and betrayal. After the treacherous Steinarr Far-Spear murders his father, Jarl Gripr, and decimates his people, Gunnar’s path is clear: rebuild, ally, and rise up to reclaim honor and justice.

Build your own settlement from the ground up, gather allies from near and far, and train a formidable warband to stand at your side. Every choice you make shapes the world around you as you navigate a landscape filled with danger and opportunity. Face off against rival clans, forge unbreakable bonds, and outmaneuver your enemies in tactical, turn-based battles that test your strategic skills.

Penned by award-winning author Giles Kristian, Norse brings a rich, historically immersive narrative to life. With a cast of unforgettable characters and a story that grips you from the start, every moment is an adventure in a world where honor, loyalty, and revenge are everything. Will you be able to lead Gunnar to triumph and restore his father’s legacy, or will the treachery of Steinarr Far-Spear be the end of your saga?

Arctic Hazard is playing on home turf because it’s a Norwegian studio, and few people know the Norwegian landscape better than they do. Norse doesn’t have a release date yet, so it probably won’t be out this year, or even next year. We do know the target platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam). How much thought did the studio put into the name of the game? We think not very much.

She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
