A Bungie Veteran Joins Halo’s Next “Experience” [VIDEO]

This person is now leading the next Halo experience (they didn’t call the project a game, but an experience!) and wants “Covenant to get its bomb back”…

On YouTube, Rebs Gaming reported that Microsoft’s Halo studio 343 Industries hired a new lead game designer in April. His name is Dan Gniady, who has held several positions at Bungie. He produced Destiny, Destiny 2, and its first expansion, The Curse of Osiris, and was the gameplay designer for Destiny 2: Warmind, Forsaken, Black Armory, Season of the Drifter, Shadow Keep, and Beyond Light, so he has spent nearly a decade at the studio (which formerly developed Halo) as more than just a producer.

From Bungie, Gniady moved to SEGA’s Creative Assembly, where he was a senior game designer. Here he worked on the canceled Hyenas project. From there, he moved to 343 Industries, where he will be responsible for the direction of the new Halo experience, something Gniady has indicated on his LinkedIn profile, as well as his efforts to bring back that particular bomb for Covenant. Microsoft has yet to confirm the development of the new Halo, but last year Seasoned Gaming editor-in-chief Ains said that 343 Industries had already assembled a team to work on the next Halo story using Unreal Engine 5, and that it was part of a restructuring of the studio to continue the Master Chief story using Epic Games’ technology.

A few months ago, a former art director at 343 Industries mentioned that the “next” Halo was in his hands, and even then it was rumored that the game would be made with Unreal Engine 5. The announcement and release of this game will probably be a long time coming, as Halo is not an IP that Microsoft wants to neglect.

We only have one question: if a new Halo is coming (it’s not official yet), will it be multiplatform or will it remain Xbox exclusive?
