Two weeks before the beta test, Firewalk Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment have revealed the system requirements for their live service game, which will be trying to build an audience against Overwatch 2.
Now let’s see just how beefy a PC Concord’s beta will need, as the final system requirements won’t be announced until later:
Minimum system requirements – 1080p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, low graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (Creators Update)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K/AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
- Memory: 8 GB RAM (DDR4)
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB VRAM)/AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
- Free storage: 30 GB (on SSD)
Recommended system requirements – 1080p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, medium graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (Creators Update)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K/AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM (DDR4)
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super/AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
- Free storage: 30 GB (on SSD)
Performance system requirements – 14400p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, high graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (Creators Update)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K/AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM (DDR4)
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080/AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
- Free storage: 30 GB (on SSD)
Ultra system requirements – 4K resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, ultra graphics preset:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (Creators Update)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K/AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM (DDR4)
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti/AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTFree storage: 30 GB (on SSD)
So you’ll need a 3-7 year old processor and (on higher system requirements) a 1-2 year old graphics card to play the game, and since Sony has specified 8th generation Intel Core processors, you could (officially) install Windows 11 on them. It is likely that the higher frame rate (say 144, 240) will require even more powerful hardware, and of course you will need an internet connection and a PlayStation Network account to play, but one is a foregone conclusion (online play) and the other has already been reported.
Concord’s early beta will run from July 12 to 14 (pre-order required) and the open beta will run from July 18 to 21. The full game will launch on August 23 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
